IMPORTANT UPDATE 01/31/13

1. TUESDAY, FEB 5th - We will meet at 4pm at the Hope's home TO SEW COSTUMES. This gathering is primarily for moms to work- there will be something for the girls to do, but it is not a girl scout meeting, girls will NOT be dropped off. Come if you are able- and be prepared to help! (If you have a sewing machine you can bring, bring it!) :)
2. WEDNESDAY, FEB 6th - REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING 3-4pm. I CANNOT BE THERE! I am aware that this is conference week. PLEASE let me know if you can cover this meeting- otherwise it will have to be cancelled. (If it is cancelled, we will have to reschedule- there is too much that the girls still need to do before international festival!)

3. SUNDAY, FEB 10th - 1030am COOKIE PICKUP - Miller & Collinsworth have volunteered to help. (Please let me know if there is a change!)
somewhere in between - sort cookies? meet to prepare for the festival? lunch?
                                         1:45pm INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
4. WEDNESDAY, FEB 13th - REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING 3-4pm. We'll work on booth selling technique and signs, etc. Turn in any money you have collected!
5. SUNDAY, FEB 17th - FIRST COOKIE BOOTH!!!

6.
I need someone to go with me to the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Annual Meeting, Thursday, April 25 7-9pm in Atlanta. Please? I know it's a weeknight. I know it's during CRCT (well, only make-ups are left!). I'll buy you dinner? Or something? LOL

TROOP NEWS: Wk of 01/28/13

1.  Snack/ Leader for the week: Taylor

2.  KEEP SELLING COOKIES!

3.  If you have orders to add or money to turn in, please bring it to the meeting.

4.  We will continue to work on signs, etc. for our cookie booths scheduled for Sunday 02/17, Sat 03/02, and Sat 03/16.

5.  I will need assistance picking up cookies on Sunday 02/10 at 10:30 in Lawrenceville (the closest location).  Please let me know if you are able to help!

6.  INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL:  Sunday 02/10 2-5pm in Covington.  All girls should attend if possible.  If you anticipate being UNABLE to attend, please let me know, as we need to purchase supplies and prepare accordingly.  :)

7.  If any moms (or dads, or grandmas, etc.) are interested in helping- I'd like to do costumes for the girls, but there is NO WAY I can do them for everyone.  If I can get a team together we might be able to do it... Otherwise, I may do something for Abby and share ideas if anyone else would like to work on a costume outside of the meeting.  Let me know what you think.

Thank you for all your help and support!!

TROOP NEWS: Wk of 01/13/13

1.  Thank you to Faith, Madilyn, Kharissa, and Abby for participating in the Cookie Rally!

2.  Snack/ Leader for the week is Matilda.

3.  Please push cookie pre-sales as much as you can this week.  I need orders, and whatever money you have collected by Wednesday.  You may continue to collect orders after Wednesday.  This is just our first opportunity to place an order.

4.  We'll be working on Cookie Sale etiquette and on our Ireland project this week.

5.  Tuesday 01/15 is spirit night at Romp n Roll!  $5 pays admission AND skate rental for anyone (not just Girl Scouts!), but GS of Atlanta gets $ to apply towards the Annual Fund.

6.  Thank you for the response about dues.  I appreciate it- and so do the girls, even if they don't know it.  ;o)

Shoot me an email, text, or phone call if you have any questions!  Thanks, all!  <3

TROOP NEWS: Wk of 01/06/13

  1. The sleepover was a great success!  Thank you to all who attended.  :)
  2. Snack/ Leader for this week is FAITH!  Be ready to share what makes your snack healthy!  :)
  3. COOKIE SALES:
    - SELL, SELL, SELL!!!
    - COLLECT MONEY!!  I will not give you cookies if you do not give me money- we don't do that "pay upon receipt" thing. Pre-order = Pre-pay.
    - TURN IN MONEY.  You can turn in money as often as you'd like.  I'll write a receipt and staple it to your collection envelope, so we can count that when totaling everything up later on.  :)
    - CHECKS: First choice payment is always cash.  Please do not accept checks unless it is someone you KNOW WELL.  What I'd prefer is that you have them write the check to YOU, and then you could write one check for all of them... if you're not comfortable with that... then maybe don't accept checks.  ;o)  (I only accept checks from family & coworkers.  Just FYI.)
    - The girls will be discussing goals and best selling practices this week.
I'm going to propose an overnight at the zoo ($60pp) as their goal- it would mean selling approximately 150 boxes of cookies each (totally doable!  Last year we had girls sell 300-500+ boxes!)  Overnight would be scheduled for May/June.  Please let me know if the concept or the dates are a problem for you.
  4. UPCOMING EVENT:  National Cookie Rally Sleepover!!  Event is THIS SATURDAY 01/12/13.  Girls have the option of attending 6pm-930pm OR they can spend the night (pick up by 9am).  Please let me know ASAP if you/your girl can attend- and if so, will it be for the evening or all night?
  5. We will begin learning about Ireland for our entry in the International Festival (Sunday, 02/10 2-5pm).  If you have any particular ties to Ireland or knowledge to share, please do!  :)
  6. Please let me know which days of the week you & your girl are NOT available for cookie booths- I will have the opportunity to sign up soon, and want to ensure that as many girls as possible can participate! :)
