12.21.12 SLEEPOVER PICS

We all had a great time at the sleepover.  The girls made ornaments, candy-cane elves, watched holiday movies, made gifts for one another, built gingerbread houses- PHEW!  It was a busy 18 hours- but it was great.  :)  Here are some photos of all the fun we had!
(You can click on the photos to see them larger- I made them small because there are so many!)

Sleepover TOMORROW!

  1. Here are directions to my house.  <sent in email... not posting here>
  2. Remember, our event will be from 4pm Friday until noon on Saturday.  I will feed them dinner, breakfast, and plenty of snacks.  We will have finger foods out on Saturday, but will not be stopping for "lunch".
  3. Girls should bring whatever they want for sleeping (pjs, sleeping bag/ blankets/ pillows/ stuffed animals, whatever).  We have extras of all of the above, but the girls will be more comfy with their own, I'm sure.
  4. We will NOT be doing typical "sleepover" activities- we will be completing lots of holiday crafts and will try to knock out some Girl Scout badge requirements.  :o)  We will do most of the activities Friday evening, and will be constructing gingerbread houses and one other special activity Saturday morning.
  5. If your girl will be here for the gingerbread house construction, please have her bring one package of candy to share for decorations.  (Remind her that they're for decorating a house- to think about their shape/ color, not their flavor.  LOL)
  6. If everyone could bring something to contribute, I'd be super grateful.  I've spoken with Tomeika (Taylor's mom) and she said they'd bring juice for Saturday's breakfast.  We're making waffles (fun, easy, & cheap).  I have bisquick, eggs, syrup, etc.  Friday night we're having pasta- I have the pasta, meat, and sauces. I'll have snacks as well (not sure what, heading to the store tonight.)   If each person could bring something to add to the meal or have for a snack, I'd appreciate it.  If you can, please reply to this email so we can avoid repeats.  :)
  7. Moms are welcome to stay for a while or for the night.  But could you please let me know and I'll plan accordingly? :)
  8. If you have any questions, please email or call- 678-680-9255c or 770-957-3333h

Thanks!!  See you tomorrow!!

12.15.12 Nutcracker!

Abby and Amelia had a great time at the Nutcracker.  We'll definitely need to do this again next year!!

We had treats at Bliss Cupcakes, took pictures on the square, and then headed to the performing arts center.  It was a really great evening with my girls.  <3

TROOP NEWS: Week of 11/25/12

I hope everyone has had a great Thanksgiving and a restful break. :)
Items 4-7 require a response. Please get back to me as soon as you have the chance. Thank you!
  1. Snack & Leader for the week: Megan
  2. Only 3 more meetings this year:
    11/28 regular mtg at school
12/05 Caroling at Azalea House (meet there at 3:30; immediately following, there will be a Badge Ceremony and a parent meeting- location TBA)
    12/12 regular mtg at school
  3. I've posted the requirements for the "Computer Expert" Brownie Badge on our blog. It's on one of the tabs at the top of the page- everything is spelled out there. :o)
  4. Unfortunately there is no Girl Scout day with the Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker this year. Northeast Atlanta has a special performance for Girl Scouts at Gwinnett Center- but it is THIS FRIDAY 11/30. Tickets are $10, but we need to get them soon! Would you like to attend? How many tickets do you need? I need the $$ ASAP.
  5. Last year, the girls did a secret Santa gift exchange. I wanted to check with you all before bringing it up to them- with a price limit of $5, would you approve?
  6. There is no Gingerbread contest this year and no "Santa Workshop" either. I'd like to do something to take the place of these events. I'm happy to host but need a date that works for the majority. Is there a Saturday or Sunday afternoon (or any day during Christmas break) that works best?
  7. I need someone to attend Cookie training with me on Monday 12/10 at 6pm. Volunteers please? So I don't have to start begging? ;o)
OK- that's the most time sensitive of it all. Please take a look at the long list of activities that I sent last week (it's also posted on the blog). We will discuss the Winter/Spring calendar at the 12/05 parent meeting, and it would be GREAT if everyone was already familiar with the options. :o)
